Demand Increases As 2016 Progresses

25.01.2016

The new mass mailing system is now operational, so newsletters and notifications of fairs can now resume.  It has certainly been a lengthy interval since the one last year.  As the year of 2015 progressed we noticed business improving with a strong demand for treen and an improving demand for good furniture, especially oak and country items.

We exhibited throughout the year at our usual fairs with much interest on the items displayed.  On the events page of the website this year’s fair dates can be found with a full itinerary of twenty one fairs.

Recent sales included a Regency breakfast table, a fine quality yew wood Windsor armchair and an important pair of William IV mahogany bedside cupboards.  Amongst the treen items that found new homes were a nineteenth century cross ribbed washing bat, a cedar wood wine tankard and a rare hound snuff box of Scandinavian origin.  We still have a small stock of watercolours and oil paintings and one recently sold was a fine watercolour by C. F. Buckley titled, ‘A Pensive Thought’.

New additions to the website  include a nineteenth century yew wood armchair, a seventeenth century oak coffer and a good quality set of four Regency dining chairs.  Amongst the treen recently added are a fine oak spice pot of a most attractive shape, a continental double spice pot that has much character and a Scandinavian sycamore mandolin.  We have now more than 120 items of treen in stock and on the website.

On the home page in the tweet box all the latest items added are listed.  This is an easy way to keep track of what is new to the site.  It is well worth keeping an eye on it as each week the site is updated.  If you click on the code of the item in the box it goes straight to the item selected.

The next fair is at Westpoint, Exeter on the 13th and 14th of February in our usual spot.  A good selection of items will be on display and the standard of the fair is much improving.  In March we shall be at Ardingly, near Gatwick in the Norfolk Pavilion , and in Mendip One at the Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet.  We look forward to seeing you there or in our gallery in Bideford should you decide to visit and as always your welcome to look around with no obligation to buy.  We would like to wish you all a good and prosperous year ahead.
