IDEAS FOR CHRISTMAS
29.10.2014
With Christmas less than two months away, many will be looking for ideas. Whether it is a piece of treen such as a sycamore bowl, chess board, a tea caddy or knife box, we have a fine selection of items in stock and on the website suitable as gifts. In the past, clients have treated themselves to larger purchases, such as an item of furniture or a picture. A few minutes looking at our website will I am sure give many ideas for Christmas.
Since the last blog in July, we have exhibited at the Cotswolds Decorative Antiques Fair near Tetbury, Shepton Mallet Fair and a new fair at Builths Wells, Wales. Among the business achieved new homes were found for an eighteenth century spider leg table, a converted Georgian knife box, an Edwardian mahogany envelope table and quite a number of treen items including an Ethiopian head rest.
New additions to the website that have been added on a weekly basis include many items of treen. The late seventeenth century French mortar with later pestle is well worth a look. A fine piece with a lovely patination is the dry storage jar, circa 1820. A George II red walnut stick barometer, is the current special offer, and it is in good condition with a fine patination.
We shall be exhibiting at the Shepton Mallet fair in our usual spot from the 14th-16th November and at Westpoint, Exeter, from the 22nd-23rd November. Our usual selection of furniture, treen and pictures, including a selection of watercolours by the Bideford artist Hubert Coop (1872-1953), will be on display. We look forward to seeing you there or in our gallery should you visit Bideford.
