A lignum vitae whistle or wind instrument in the manner of a recorder, having a brass collar with four apertures and the body with a further three finger holes. We have been unable to make a satisfactory sound and there is doubt on the art of using it with both ends being open. The whole has a rich dark colour and retains a patination.
