Summer 2019

12.07.2019

We have given the title, Summer, in anticipation of some extended sunshine, which is much needed after all the rain.  We do apologise for clients calling to see us at the Builth Wells Fair, 4th.-5th. May, as we had to cancel two days before due to illness, but we have recovered and all is now well.  As mentioned in the previous blog, we exhibited at the NEC in April for the first time in nearly twenty years.  Many clients came to our stand and we were welcomed back with business brisk.  We will be there again in the same position from the 18th. till the 21st. July.  If you register for a newsletter, we can attach NEC Fair e-tickets to all newsletters prior to exhibiting there.

Business has been excellent on our website, fairs have been mixed, while the gallery in Bideford has settled into a satisfactory pattern, with visitors to the area and local clients returning now and again.

We have supplied many items to collectors since March, including a rare early trencher, S/3429, an unusual double whip holder, S/3560, and a most unusual fisherman’s companion, S/3486, which is well worth a look.  Remember when searching for pieces, the search box on the home page is most useful and will display both the selected item for sale and also previously sold ones for comparison, as long as you put in say goblet and not goblets, it must be singular.

We are still entering items on our site each day, unless we are away at a fair, so do keep an eye on it.  We have noticed that occasionally when clients reserve an item themselves, the notification e-mail goes into spam, so if we do not reply within 24 hours, please do phone or e-mail us again to confirm availability.

We would also ask clients, that when paying by bank transfer, to notify us when the transfer is completed, as we have to now travel 22 miles to get a statement.   Santander have now closed their branch in Bideford, after we moved to them when NatWest branch closed!  Things do not get easier.

We look forward to seeing you if possible at a fair, see our events page here on our website, and wish you a good summer with plenty of sunshine.
