S/1547 18th Century Fruitwood Pestle and Mortar
A substantial fruitwood pestle and mortar, having a ring turned top edge slightly chipped through use and the concave base also with ring turned decoration. The base has good pole lathe turnings and the whole has a lovely colour and fine patination.
The pestle has a knop end, graduated handle and stepped shoulder ending in a slightly flared and rounded base.
The whole retains a patination.
