S/1657 19th Century Strawberry Wood Spoon

A delightful Swiss strawberry wood spoon, having a handle shaped and carved, with the bowl delicately engraved with a sprig of flower heads and foliage. The whole retains a pleasing patination.

It is interesting to note that strawberry wood is the best source of charcoal for making gunpowder.
