S1658 19th Century Lignum Vitae String Barrel

A fine quality lignum vitae brass bound string barrel in three sections, having a top with graduated ring turning above four brass bands with a small protruding brass tap emitting the string.

The whole is raised on a spreading concave circular base, has a lovely rich colour and retains a well polished patination.
