S/1670 19th Century Pattern Maker's Gear Wheel

An unusual pattern maker's pine and mahogany gear wheel, inscribed Bodley Bros. Exeter and pattern number SG9624, having six spokes and rapping holes to the centre.

The foundry was started in 1790 and closed down in 1966. Full details are available as to its history.
