S/1676 19th Century Large Sycamore Dairy Bowl

A fine weathered sycamore dairy bowl of large proportions, having an exterior with pole lathe turnings, triple reeded decoration and retaining a patination.

Sycamore is often treated to change colour into a pink or mid brown and is called weathered sycamore, as in this instance. It is also the best veneer for processing into dyed veneers in a range of colours including black.
