S/1747 19th Century Mahogany Ceremonial Baton

A well carved ceremonial baton, having a thistle to one end, possibly Scottish. The opposite end has turnings similar to an oatmeal roller as a hand grip. The centre carved as a graduated spiral snake with its head to the top with two beetles under the name D. Garret, has leaves and foliage above.
