S/1974 Antique Treen 19th Century Pear Wood Dated Knitting Sheath

A fine pear wood dated knitting sheath, having a finely carved inscription 'Anne Wrighton Farnborough 1850 Better a day thy courts within than the sands in the tents of sin Psalm 84 v. 9 10'. The whole is made from a single piece of pear wood with two balls in open lanterns, and has a good colour and patination.
