S/2042 Antique Treen Boxwood Brewery Measuring Stick

An interesting square boxwood brewery measuring stick with a brass tip, having various calibrated measurements on all four sides. It is inscribed hogs, barrels, kilderkins, firkins and imperial gallons by J Long who was working at 43 East Cheap, London between 1885-1936.

2 Firkins = 1 Kilderkin
2 Kilderkins = 1 Barrel
1.5 Barrels = 1 Hogshead
2 Hogshead = 1 Butt
2 Butts = 1 Tun
1 Tun = 6 Barrells with a capacity of 216 imperial gallons
