S/2159 Antique Treen 18th Century Sussex Elm Log Bowl

A small 18th century Sussex elm log bowl, made from sawing across the grain of a log. These interesting eating bowls were made in four different sizes and an example can be seen in Treen for the Table by Jonathan Levi on page 150. The whole has a pleasing honey colour and retains a patination.
