S/2302 Antique Treen 17th Century Lignum Vitae Mortar

An unusual and well used bell shaped mid 17th century Charles II lignum vitae heart wood mortar, raised on a short stem with a spreading ring turned and rounded concave foot. The base has pronounced pole lathe turnings and the whole has a good rich dark colour and patination.
