S/2378 Antique Treen 19th Century Laburnum Table Snuff Box

A most unusual laburnum hinged table snuff box in the form of a natural grained log retaining its bark. The top has a vacant white metal (probably silver) cartouche, which opens via a substantial hinge revealing an oval fixed white metal container for snuff. The top edge when open is carved with the name G. Deakin. The whole has a lovely rich colour, grain and patination.
