S/2468 Antique Treen 19th Century Fruitwood Dog Snuff Box

A beautifully carved French snuff box in fruitwood in the form of a full bodied dog, lying down on a platform base having blue glass eyes. The ownner's initials W.L. are carved on the hinged lid, which reveals an aperture for the snuff on the underside. The whole has a lovely honey colour and fine patination.
