S/2652 Antique Treen 19th Century Pair of Oak Travelling Candlesticks

A pair of late Victorian oak travelling candlesticks, known as Brighton Buns, which were also made in mahogany and brass. The candlesticks each unscrew and lay inside the two circular bases, which then screw together for travelling. Each has incised ring turnings. There is small restoration on the edge of one of the bowls in two places, which is hardly noticable. The whole has a pale honey colour and original patination.
