A most unusual and finely made engine turnd lignum vitae and bone pin holder, having a circular carved and decorated bone cup, raised on a short lignum vitae stem and seated on a circular platform. This in turn is raised on three tapered and fluted lignum vitae pillars, with bone finials and collars. The base has engine turned decoration with a ribbed and angled edge. The whole is made of heart and sap wood and is a feat of craftmanship, having a good rich colour and patination.
