S/2723 Antique Treen 19th Century Coquilla Nut Snuff Box

An early 19th century deeply carved and pierced French coquilla nut pocket snuff box, having a hinged lid carved with a coach and horses, figures and a dog in full gallop. The reverse has three native Indians and a dog within an oval and floral surround. The whole has a good rich dark honey colour and patination.
