S/2773 Antique Treen Georgian Tea Caddy in the Form of a Cantaloupe Melon
A fine Georgian tea caddy in the form of a cantaloupe melon, having a segmented body and a hinged lid with a stalk finial and an escutcheon, lock and key. The body has remains of painted decoration and a silvered interior. The lid has historic restoration to the front, which is more visible on the inside. These period fruit tea caddies are rare and much sought after, this being an excellent example. The whole has a lovely soft colour and patination.
