S/2827 Antique Treen 19th Century Lignum Vitae Bung Hammer

A good solid well used lignum vitae bung hammer in heart and sap wood, having a turned and reeded grip handle. Bung hammers, as the name suggests, were used by coopers to hammer in bungs on wooden casks and barrels. The whole has a lovely colour and patination.
