S/3027 Antique Treen 18th Century Sycamore Platter
A rare 18th century sycamore platter, having a shallow raised rim. The underside is slightly domed and sits in the hand most comfortably. In the 16th/17th and early 18th centuries people often held the platters in their hands while eating, and did not have them placed on the table. The whole has a warm colour and retains a patination.
