S/3028 Antique Treen 19th Century Lignum Vitae Storage Container

A substantial and well turned circular lignum vitae storage container, probably for spices, having a reeded turned fitted lid with a raised central mushroom handle. The similar base has a concave and globular body with incised lines and a swept foot. The whole has a rich dark colour and exceptional patination.
