S/3055 Antique Treen 19th Century Cherry Wood String Barrel

An exceptionally good quality early 19th century solid cherry wood string barrel, raised on a circular well turned moulded foot. One end has a turned protruding outlet for the string, while the opposite end unscrews to gain access to the interior. The whole has a lovely rich honey colour and excellent patination.
