S/3079 Antique Treen 19th Century Pair of Mahogany Money Boxes

A rare and most interesting pair of dovetailed solid mahogany metal mounted money boxes, each for two different sized coins, with sliding lids and divided interiors. These boxes, fully inscribed in ink, belonged to William Brent and Mary Brent, both dated 17th August 1848. They were probably twin children, a real piece of social history. The pair have a good rich colour and retain their original patination.
