S/3218 Antique Treen 19th Century Boxwood Snuff Shoe

A small Dutch boxwood snuff shoe in the form of a clog, having a decorative swivel lid and a further sliding locking lid under to gain access to the snuff. The heal and sole have square carved sufaces. It is unusual to find snuff shoes in boxwood. The whole has a lovely honey colour and patination.
