S/3307 Antique Treen 19th Century Fruitwood Part of a Swift

A fruitwood mystery object we think is the base of a swift for winding yarn, but it is now missing its arms. We are open to any other suggestions. It is made of fruitwood with four openings for the arms on an unusual base, possibly a growth or the bark of a tree or shrub. The whole has a good rich colour and patination.
