S/3323 Antique Treen 19th Century Laburnum Needle Case
An interesting cylindrical laburnum needle case, having a fitted brass top, which reads, 'Wheeler and Wilsons sewing machines' with numbered sizes running from 16 to 140. The interior is divided into six sections and the rim of the lid is inscribed, 'C.D. Wheeler patented May 17th. 1859 re-issued Oct. 16th. 1860'. The whole has a good dark rich colour and patination.
