S/3370 Antique Treen Late 17th Century Oak Costrel

A rare late 17th century oak costrel, of rounded and triangular form, of coopered construction and having deep inset ends. It is initialled I.R. and has four wide iron riveted nailed bands and a raised central bung. The whole has a lovely rich dark colour and excellent patination.
