S/4500 Antique Early 19th Century Blond Horn Beaker Engraved with a Foxhunting Scene

An extremely interesting early 19th century foxhunting scene, beautifully engraved on a blond horn beaker. It has a slightly misshapen shape, owing no doubt due to the use of hot liquids such as mulled ale. The whole beaker, with a watertight inset horn base, is engraved with a pack of 24 hounds chasing a fox, heading for a cover amongst trees. It also has depicted a windmill and three houses, all in an undulating landscape, and is an excellent example of a pleasing colour.
