S/6070 Antique Treen Georgian Beech Crimping Board and Roller
A Georgian beech crimping board and roller of traditional design, which were used for minute crimpings. The fabric was first starched, then dampened and placed on the board, and rolled until the pleats were formed. The whole has a pale colour and retains a patination.
