S/6100 Antique 17th Century Carved Oak Figure on a Panelled Background
A most attractive carved oak 17th century figure against a panelled background, having a rebated edge that suggests it once belonged to a piece of furniture or fire surround. The male standing figure possibly represents Adam holding a fig leaf, has well carved facial features with intricate curly hair and is resting his hand on his knee. The whole has a pleasing colour with a worn dark patination.
