S/6114 Antique Treen Swedish Oval Birch Bark Trinket Box

A small Swedish oval trinket box, having a fitted lid and base of solid birch wood, with the sides constructed of overlapping birch bark. The lid, with faint inscribed decoration, is centered with a raised turned finial acting as a knob. The base is held in place with small brass pins and has pin prick initials E.J. The whole has a pleasing pale colour and retains a patination.
