S/806 Fine Pair of Mahogany William IV Period Bedside Cupboards

Probably made by Gillows of Lancaster.

The rectangular tops, with a lipped edge on all four sides, have three quarter surrounding galleries with a rounded top edge. The well figured cleated and cockbeaded doors, with a rectangular blind cockbeaded panel to each side, retain their original central turned mahogany knob handles, and open to reveal well proportioned and useful mahogany lined interiors.

The whole, made in superior quality timber, have polished backs, which conform to the sides, and are each raised on four tapered and finely turned castellated legs, of stable proportions, that conform to the overall quality, lovely colour, good condition and patination.
