S/870 Rimmed Pestle and Mortar

A fine lignum vitae pestle and mortar, the ten inch (25.5 cm.) pestle has ring turned decoration. The mortar, with a partially enclosed top, has pole lathe marks to the top and base, and has a slight protruding foot. The whole with well grained patination has a lovely colour.
