S/271 George III Mahogany Sideboard

The serpentine fronted top is crossbanded in tulipwood and is outlined with three lines of conforming boxwood stringing. To the right side is a partitioned cellaret drawer, to the centre a drawer and to the left side a cupboard door, which opens to reveal two adjustable mahogany shelves and a mahogany cutlery tray, all conforming to the serpentine shaped front. The drawers and cupboard are outlined with boxwood and ebony stringing, giving the appearance of panels and are fitted with brass pierced handles, locks and key.

The whole, having a good nutmeg brown colour, is raised on six tapered legs terminating in spade feet, with conforming boxwood stringing, and is in good condition retaining a patination.
