S/297 Victorian Walnut China Cabinet

The well figured, bookmatched top, with rounded protruding front corners, has a purple heart band outlined with boxwood stringing. The frieze is decorated with boxwood, tulipwood and holly inlay and brass gilt beading, and is above two conforming glazed doors outlined with boxwood stringing, brass beading and well figured walnut.

The doors, fitted with a lock and key, enclose two fixed shelves and the base shelf and are within two tapered, gilt mounted pillars, which conform to the design.

The whole, supported on a plinth base, is in good condition, retains a patination and has a lovely colour.
