S/865 George III Mahogany Night Table
The one-piece solid mahogany top has a surrounding gallery with a cut-out carrying handle to the sides and back, each with pierced floral decorations, and a dipped edge to the front. The front comprises of a single tambour sliding door, enclosing a sizeable area of most useful proportions. The base has been converted to a single oak lined drawer, fitted with a brass bail handle and decorated with holly stringing, and slides forwards on split front legs in the traditional manner.
The whole, with a polished back, is raised on square legs and is a good rich colour retaining a patination.
