S/403 George II Red Walnut Corner Drop Flap Table

The one-piece triangular top has a matching leaf, which when folded sits vertically to the front of the table. When open the leaf is supported by a fourth leg, which swings out on a wooden knuckle hinge, giving a sizeable area to seat four persons.

The whole is raised on four tapered legs, with blind fret decoration to the knees, and terminate in slightly pointed pad feet in the traditional design for the period.

This fine quality piece of early eighteenth century furniture is a good rich red walnut colour and retains a patination.
