S404 George III Mahogany Card Table

The 'D' shaped top, crossbanded in satinwood and kingwood with boxwood and holly stringing, opens to reveal a green baize lined interior, within a mahogany surround outlined with boxwood stringing; and when opened the top is supported by the two back legs, which swing outwards on double wooden knuckle hinges.

The whole, with the frieze having outlined panels with holly and boxwood stringing, is supported on tapered, ring turned legs, and is a good rich colour, in good condition and has a most attractive range of woods used for its veneers.
