S/409 George III Mahogany Night Table

The one-piece solid mahogany top has a shaped surrounding gallery with a cut-out carrying handle to each side and a dipped front edge. The front comprises of a single tambour sliding door, enclosing a good sized area of most useful proportions.

The base has now been converted to a single drawer, fitted with two original brass bail handles, each within boxwood stringing giving the impression of two drawers, which slides forwards on split front legs in the traditional manner.

The whole, with a polished back, is raised on square legs with edge mouldings and is of a pleasing colour retaining a patination.
