S/467/487 Two Similar George III Mahogany Night Tables

The one-piece solid mahogany tops have surrounding galleries with cut-out carrying handles to each side, and dipped front edges. The fronts comprise of single tambour sliding doors, enclosing sizeable areas of most useful proportions. The bases have now been converted to single drawers, fitted with brass bail handles, sliding forwards on split front legs in the traditional manner.

The two, with polished backs, are raised on square legs with edge mouldings and are of a good rich colour retaining a patination.

(one bail handle replaced)
