S/488 George III Mahogany Night Table
The one-piece solid mahogany top has a shaped surrounding gallery with a cut-out carrying handle to each side and a dipped front edge. The front comprises of two doors, fitted with a Dutch drop handle, which encloses an area of most useful proportions.
The base has now been converted to a single drawer, fitted with a brass bail handle, sliding forwards on split front legs in the traditional manner.
The whole, with a polished back, is raised on square legs and is a pleasing colour retaining a patination.
