S/499 George III Mahogany Night Table

The one-piece solid mahogany top, with a dipped surrounding gallery with raised corners, is above two fielded panelled well figured doors, fitted with a Dutch drop handle, which enclose a sizeable area of most useful proportions. The base has now been converted to a single oak lined drawer, which slides forwards on split front legs in the traditional manner and is fitted with a decorative bail handle.

The whole, with a cut-out carrying handle to each side and a polished back, is raised on square legs and is a good rich colour retaining a patination.

(Dutch drop handle replaced)
