S/867 George III Mahogany Card Table

The 'D' shaped top, banded in satinwood with kingwood crossbanding and outlined with boxwood and holly stringing, opens to reveal a green baize lined interior, within a mahogany surround; and when opened the top is supported by the two back legs, which swing outwards on wooden knuckle hinges.

The whole, with a frieze having outlined panels with satinwood crossbanding within holly and boxwood stringing, is supported on tapered square legs decorated with boxwood stringing and terminating with spade feet in the traditional design, and is in good condition, a lovely colour and retains a patination.
