S/524 George III Mahogany Knife Box

The hinged lid, outlined with holly stringing, opens to reveal divided mahogany compartments for cutlery, which is decorated with boxwood and holly stringing, with a conforming design to the underside of the lid.

The whole, with silver plated escutcheon and ring handle, is fitted with a lock and key and is in good condition retaining a patination.
