S/542 Regency Mahogany Drop Leaf Work Table

The rectangular drop leaf top, with rounded corners, is above a single full width mahogany lined drawer, with a single partition and fitted with a lock and key. Below is a barrel shaped sewing box, covered in pleated, dark green silk within a 'U' shaped mahogany surround.

The whole, raised on a turned and decoratively carved column, is supported on a four sided, concave platform base with scroll feet, decorated with paterae and fitted with castors under. The table, with crisp carving throughout, has a pleasing colour, is in good condition and retains a patination.
