S/576 Regency Mahogany Work Table

The solid top, with a reeded edge, has two hinged leaves, each supported by a wooden knuckle hinge, which when raised, makes a useful area for a lamp or display purposes. To one end are two mahogany lined drawers, the top one fitted with divisions for two ink pots, a compartment and a removable pen tray behind. Both drawers and the two dummy drawers to the other end of the table are outlined with ebony stringing and fitted with small ebonised wooden knob handles.

The whole, fitted with locks and a key, is raised in slender, tapered legs, fitted with brass castors and is a pleasing colour, in good condition and retains a patination.

(wooden knob handles replaced at a later date)
