S/955 George II Red Walnut Stick Barometer
The arched top, fitted with three brass finials, is above a glazed door, which opens to reveal a sliding wire marker and a paper register with attractive old English penned measurements. The mercurial tube is visible down the front of the barometer to its end, which is fitted with a cork and encased is a bulbous cover.
The register is inscribed with the maker: Prim Jerdan, Italian.
