S/686 Victorian Walnut Inlaid Writing Slope

The top, with boxwood, rosewood and walnut cube work parquetry within a boxwood and walnut rope twist, opens to reveal a dark velvet lined slope, with two compartments under. The interior is fitted with a removable pen tray and two brass cap ink pots. The front is decorated with conforming rope twist inlay and fitted with a lock and key.

The whole is a most attractive design, a good colour and retains a patination.
